About No1 Fencing
No1 Fencing is a specialist fencing contractor working across South London and the Kent borders. We do not lay patios, build walls or take on general landscaping — fencing and gates are the whole business, which is why we can talk through a boundary in detail rather than in generalities.
How we work
Every job starts with a site visit, because the two things that decide a fencing price are invisible from a photograph: the ground, and the access. We test posts, look for old footings, check levels along the run, and work out how materials will get to the boundary.
You then get an itemised written estimate. If we think a repair will do instead of a replacement, we will say so and estimate both — a fence we replace ten years early is not worth the reputation.
The standards we build to
- Posts set in concrete, to a depth suited to the height and the ground
- Pressure-treated timber throughout, with cut ends re-treated on site
- Gravel boards on any run where timber would otherwise sit in soil
- Galvanised or stainless fixings, and ironmongery sized to the gate
- The old fence, posts and concrete removed and disposed of
