Fence repairs
Not every damaged fence needs replacing. If the posts are sound, a repair is usually a fraction of the cost — and we will tell you honestly which one you are looking at.
Repairs we carry out
Most repair calls come down to four things: a post that has rotted at ground level, panels that have blown out in wind, gravel boards that have crumbled, or a gate that has dropped on its hinges.
- Replacing individual rotten or snapped posts
- Fitting concrete spurs to support sound timber posts
- Replacing storm-damaged panels or feather edge boards
- Replacing rotten gravel boards and arris rails
- Re-hanging and adjusting dropped gates
- Straightening and re-fixing leaning runs
Repair or replace?
As a rule of thumb: if fewer than a third of the posts have failed and the rest of the timber is sound, repair. If posts are snapping one after another, or the timber is soft when you press a screwdriver into it, replacement is better value than a series of call-outs.
We will always give you both prices where both are realistic options.
