Panel fencing

Panel fencing is the quickest and most economical way to get a tidy, private boundary — and with concrete posts and gravel boards it can last far longer than its reputation suggests.

Panel types we fit

Panels vary enormously in quality. The cheapest overlap panels use thin, wide boards and light framing; better panels use more timber and a proper frame, and cost noticeably more for good reason.

  • Overlap (lap) panels — the standard economical choice
  • Closeboard-effect panels — heavier, more solid appearance
  • Slatted and contemporary panels — modern look, some airflow
  • Decorative and trellis-topped panels — privacy plus light

Why concrete posts matter more than the panel

In a slotted concrete post system the panel is a replaceable component. If one blows out in a storm you slide a new one in from the top for the cost of a panel. Timber posts tie the whole run together, so a post failure becomes a much bigger job.

Frequently asked questions

How long do fence panels last?
Realistically 8–15 years for good pressure-treated panels kept clear of the ground, less for budget panels sitting in soil. The posts usually decide the fence's real lifespan.
Can you replace panels in existing concrete posts?
Yes, provided the posts are sound and the bay widths are standard. It is one of the cheapest ways to refresh a boundary.
