Gate repairs
A gate that drags on the ground or will not latch usually has one of three causes: a leaning post, worn hinges, or a frame that has lost its brace.
What we repair
We diagnose before we estimate, because replacing a gate that only needs a new hanging post is money wasted.
- Re-hanging dropped or dragging gates
- Replacing rotten or leaning hanging posts
- Upgrading undersized hinges and latches
- Re-bracing sagging gate frames
- Re-squaring and re-bolting driveway gates
When repair stops being worthwhile
If the frame joints have opened and the timber is soft, a new made-to-measure gate on the existing posts is usually the better spend.
